Come and have a look at our selection of linen fabrics.

Linen is made from the flax plant and is stronger than cotton. Linen becomes softer with washing but due to its low elasticity qualities, it creases easily. The fibre doesn’t provide any insulation qualities so is perfect for wearing in cooler weather. Linen can also be blended with other fibres. Perfect for loose fitting garments like dresses, skirts and trousers.

Linen Viscose is a blended fabric of linen and viscose fibres. By having a viscose content, it allows for the fabric to be slightly softer with a better drape, but keeps the cool wearing and overall qualities that you see with linen.

Ramie is a linen like fabric, but made from a nettle plant called China grass (Boehmeria nivea). Ramie requires little water/pesticides to grow, but does require some chemicals to “de-gum” the fibres. Ramie has similar qualities to linen, it’s absorbent and breathable, so perfect for wearing in warmer weather and holds its shape well. Similar to linen it also softens with washing.  Ramie has a lustre look similar to silk.
